As noted, Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc is a high-class golf course with 18 holes, covering an area of over 100ha, and designed according to the model of famous sea-island golf courses in the world. This is the second golf course in Vietnam designed according to this model, after Vinpearl Nha Trang golf course. Not only that, in Phu Quoc, the golf course is also designed more delicately, in order to make the most of the natural terrain of the forest and the sea of Pearl Island.
Accordingly, vast natural primeval forests have been fully utilized to create special wavy fairways, interweaving sand traps, dunes, bushes and forests. Most notably, flat roads are hewn from 1,000 hectares of old-growth hardwood forest and meander through streams and reservoirs. At the same time, Paspalum grass is used throughout the field and creates excellent playing conditions with medium speed greens.
The third hole on the Phu Quoc Course is the hallmark hole. This extremely brief par three is played to a green that virtually juts out into the nearby marshes. Although it is really picturesque, the 145 yards from the blue tees could use a little more difficulty. Better players would be better served by moving back a tee to fully use the hole. The last holes on the Nha Trang and Phu Quoc Courses are other noteworthy holes. Both are lengthy par-4 holes that require players to play into the wind and toward secure greens. Pars or even bogeys are respectable results at 439 and 418 yards, respectively.
