The trademark course that Greg Norman created is KN Cam Ranh Golf Links. One of very few links courses exists in Asia. It is a component of an 800-hectare mega-project that also includes eight kilometers of excellent coastal land along the East Sea. This region is known for its stunning white sand dunes and lengthy, gently curving shoreline. The course is located 20 minutes from the vacation city of Nha Trang and 5 minutes from Cam Ranh International Airport.
The Cam Ranh golf course’s Links Course was built above sloping dunes, with a 50 meter elevation shift from highest to lowest. The hole routing incorporates the existing coastal dunes, features, dangers, and ocean vistas. The natural geography of the site lends itself wonderfully to a wide range of golf holes, and most holes have breathtaking vistas from the tee boxes.
The layout lacks any trees and seems more like a links course in Scotland than in Asia. There is only a little amount of native grass and vegetation. The fairways’ well maintained Zoysia turf creates a lovely contrast to the South China Sea’s white sand coastline and azure waves. Bermuda turf from Tiff-Eagle is used to grass the greens.
Because the links course is an authentic representation of the first golf course, playability was another consideration in the design. Links are a good choice for Cam Ranh because of the terrain’s natural contouring and steep inclines. Most holes have run-off areas, which improves the strategy. Additionally, the proximity to the sea and the changing wind patterns present ongoing difficulties; when the wind is up, the higher elevation holes are most negatively impacted.
The 10th and 15th holes, two par-4s that play downhill into the ocean and three little islands about 10 kilometers away, are two of the best.
The award-winning 18-hole Links Course’s challenging terrain is complemented by the calm challenge provided by the Oasis Course for players. The Oasis course features broad fairways with roomy landing zones and water on eight of the nine holes. The par-five third hole provides the first glimpse of the interconnecting water network, with a stream cutting over the fairway to the right and down onto the island green before weaving its way down the left side from the tee. Floodlights on the course make it the perfect place for late-afternoon rounds when you arrive in Cam Ranh.
The 18-hole Links Course and a 9-9 mix of the Ocean and Links Courses are also available to golfers. If time permits, a complete 27-hole layout is also a fantastic option for even more fun.
Cam Ranh Golf Links is expertly run and provides 5-star service. IMG is in charge. Beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area and out over Cam Ranh Bay may be seen from the well-equipped clubhouse. The whole Cam Ranh Links Golf Resort is made up of the golf courses and clubhouse in addition to a number of hotels, entertainment venues, a marina, a theme park, and villas.
